What's Included

What We Do on Emergency Call-Outs

Every emergency is different. Here is what our response typically covers, depending on what you are dealing with.

Hazard assessment

We assess the tree or branch before any work begins. We identify what is unstable, what the risks are to people, property, and power lines, and agree the safest approach with you before we start.

Making the tree safe

Where a tree cannot be fully removed in one visit, we stabilise and make it safe as a first step. This protects your property and means you are not left exposed while a full removal is scheduled.

Fallen tree removal

We cut, section, and remove fallen trees from gardens, driveways, pathways, roofs, and fences. We work carefully around damaged structures and do not cause further damage in the process of clearing.

Dangerous branch removal

Storm-damaged or hanging branches are one of the most common emergency calls we receive. We remove them safely, including work at height where the branch is still partially attached to the tree.

Debris clearance

All timber, brash, and debris is cleared from the site. We chip or remove it from your property before we leave. You should not be left dealing with the aftermath once the hazard is dealt with.

Follow-up work

If the emergency response reveals a larger job, such as full tree removal or crown reduction, we can arrange a return visit and give you a written quote for the remaining work.

Common Questions

Emergency Tree Work FAQs

What counts as an emergency tree job?
A tree or branch that poses an immediate risk to people, vehicles, or property. This includes fallen trees blocking access, branches resting on roofs or fences, trees leaning dangerously after a storm, and hanging limbs that could fall. If you are unsure whether your situation qualifies, call us and describe what you can see. We will tell you honestly.
How quickly can you attend an emergency call-out in Dundee?
We aim to attend the same day where possible, depending on the time of call and our current workload. Call us directly on 07478 417566 and we will give you an honest time estimate. We do not leave you waiting without an update.
What if the tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order?
In a genuine emergency where there is immediate risk to life or property, work can be carried out on a protected tree without prior permission. The local planning authority must be notified as soon as possible afterwards. We can advise you on this process when we attend. Do not let uncertainty about a TPO stop you from calling if there is a real risk.
A tree has fallen on my roof or fence. What should I do?
Call us immediately. Do not attempt to move or cut any part of the tree yourself, particularly if it is resting on a structure. Stay clear of the area and keep others away until we have assessed the situation. We will advise you on whether to contact your insurer before we start work, as some insurers require a surveyor visit first.
Do you remove the tree completely in one visit?
Where it is safe and practical to do so, yes. In some cases, where a tree is large or close to a structure, we make it safe on the first visit and arrange a return for full removal. We will always explain what we are doing and why, and give you a written quote for any follow-up work before we carry it out.
