Fallen tree removal

Dangerous branch removal

- What if the tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order?
- In a genuine emergency where there is immediate risk to life or property, work can be carried out on a protected tree without prior permission. The local planning authority must be notified as soon as possible afterwards. We can advise you on this process when we attend. Do not let uncertainty about a TPO stop you from calling if there is a real risk.
- A tree has fallen on my roof or fence. What should I do?
- Call us immediately. Do not attempt to move or cut any part of the tree yourself, particularly if it is resting on a structure. Stay clear of the area and keep others away until we have assessed the situation. We will advise you on whether to contact your insurer before we start work, as some insurers require a surveyor visit first.
- Do you remove the tree completely in one visit?
- Where it is safe and practical to do so, yes. In some cases, where a tree is large or close to a structure, we make it safe on the first visit and arrange a return for full removal. We will always explain what we are doing and why, and give you a written quote for any follow-up work before we carry it out.
