Garden paths, entry steps, and side passages cleaned. Algae and moss on steps and paths are a slip hazard, particularly in wet Scottish weather. Cleaning removes the hazard as well as improving the appearance.
Walls and render
Brick walls, rendered surfaces, and boundary walls cleaned of moss, algae, and weathering. Rendered and painted surfaces require lower pressure to avoid damage. We assess before we start.
Sealant application
We apply sealant to patios, block paving, and stone surfaces after washing. Sealant reduces the rate at which algae and moss return and makes the surface easier to clean in future. We use appropriate sealants for the surface type.

Surface Treatment Guide
Block paving driveways
Block paving benefits most from sealing after washing. It slows weed and moss growth in the joints and protects the surface colour. We recommend resealing every three to five years.
Natural stone and slate patios
Natural stone requires a breathable, impregnating sealant rather than a surface seal. This protects without trapping moisture underneath, which can cause damage over time.
Timber decking
After washing, timber decking can be treated with a wood oil or decking stain to restore colour and protect the grain. We can advise on treatment options when we visit.
Concrete and tarmac
Concrete driveways and tarmac can be sealed after cleaning to reduce oil absorption and make future cleaning easier. Tarmac sealing also helps protect against UV and frost damage.

- What is the difference between power washing and pressure washing?
- In practice the terms are used interchangeably for domestic jobs. Technically, power washing uses heated water and pressure washing uses cold water at high pressure. For most patio, driveway, and decking jobs in Dundee, cold pressure washing is effective and appropriate. We use the right equipment for the job.
- How often should I have my patio power washed?
- For most Dundee gardens, once every one to two years is enough to keep a patio looking good. Patios in shaded or damp positions may need more frequent cleaning as algae and moss grow faster. Applying sealant after washing slows regrowth and extends the time between cleans.
